El TAS remodela su órgano de gobierno: el español García Silvero entre ellos

El español Emilio García Silvero, actual jefe de los servicios jurídicos de la FIFA, ha sido designado nuevo miembro del ICAS, el órgano de gobierno del TAS, en el marco de una remodelación que ha hecho pública hoy la institución. 

El nombramiento se ha realizado a propuesta de las federaciones internacionales olímpicas de los juegos de verano.

Sobre el ICAS

El ICAS es una fundación suiza creada en 1994 compuesta por veintidós jueces, profesores o abogados internacionales activo en el poder judicial, el arbitraje internacional y/o la administración deportiva.

Como órgano rector de la Corte de Arbitraje Deportivo (CAS o TAS), ICAS gestiona la administración y las finanzas del TAS.

El TAS es una institución independiente, con sede en Lausana, involucrada en la resolución de disputas legales en el campo del deporte. a través del arbitraje y la mediación.

La jurisdicción del TAS es reconocida por todas las federaciones deportivas olímpicas y muchas federaciones no olímpicas. El TAS registra alrededor de 900 casos cada año.
